Call for Poetry and Prayer Submissions
For the fourth year in a row, we look forward to producing our own original book of personal piyutim, prayers, poems and reflections written for the High Holidays. We would love to include your writtings or black & white art. Please send or deliver all submissions to Kris by August 10th, by clicking here.
This book of prayers and poems has been an important source of inspiration during the holidays. For more information, please speak with Pat Hurshell or Rabbi Borodin.

Volunteer with the ECC
Congregation Beth Shalom's Early Childhood Center (ECC) is looking for 1-2 volunteers to work from 12:45pm to 1:30pm on Mondays, so that the teachers can have a regular staff meeting. The children will be asleep for most of this time, but will need supervision. There may be other projects to be done as well, such as snack preparation. If interested, please contact Jackie Schulstrom at (206) 985-2517 or use our contact form.
Volunteers needed for:
- Blood Drive, July 25, 2010. Volunteers are needed to serve drinks and snacks to blood donors. Volunteer for a half hour or one hour shift between 10am-4pm.
- Help organize this year's Yom Kippur Break Fast.
- Help organize this year's Sukkah Hop.
- Participate in the Sukkah Hop by serving part of a progressive Sukkot lunch at your sukkah.
- Help organize this year's Hanukkah Party or come decorate the shul for Hanukkah.
- Get involved with making a fun and festive Purim holiday.
.
Events such as these will only come about if volunteers step forward to organize them. We need you to make it happen! Do you have program ideas for next year? We're scheduling events now, so please call to make sure that your program is on the calendar. Contact Carol Benedick at (206) 524-0075.
