Community
Congregation Beth Shalom is a Conservative egalitarian synagogue in which members actively participate in all aspects of congregational life. Our community includes individuals and families of all ages and cultural backgrounds.

Founded more than 35 years ago, Congregation Beth Shalom is located in the beautiful Wedgewood-Ravenna neighborhood of North Seattle. Our programs and activities include Shabbat and festival worship; rich educational programs for children and adults; social action for the homeless, the environment, and for Israel; and fun activities for community building.
Beth Shalom is a place where you can grow spiritually and in religious practice. Opportunities to enhance Jewish knowledge and observance are abundant. Classes are offered in a wide range of Jewish subjects, presented by a variety of outstanding scholars and educators. Topics in our adult education program include Torah, Talmud, Jewish history, synagogue skills, ethics and Hebrew language. Our annual Bierman Scholar-in-Residence program brings world renowned Jewish educators to the community for an intensive weekend of study.
Our daily, morning minyan assures a place to say Kaddish. We have services every morning, and an additional minyan on Monday evenings. Please see our minyan schedule.
Beth Shalom is committed to Jewish education for children. We offer formal and informal educational experiences. We operate a highly respected K-8 religious school, as well as a Shabbat morning Junior Congregation. We also have a monthly Tot Shabbat, a special program geared toward toddlers.

We provide opportunities to play. We value celebrating Jewish festivals with fun activities such as our Purim Parody feast, community dinners and seders, and a cheesecake cook-off for Shavuot.
Our members care about, and care for, each other in times of celebration and times of challenge. Our nationally recognized Mitzvah Corps assures attendance and food at shiva minyanim, provides meals for members who are ill, and checks in on non-mobile members. Our members support families coming from out of town to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center for cancer treatment, by cooking meals and meeting other needs as requested.
There are many opportunities to get involved. From committee membership to special interest havurot, there is something for everyone. Some of the regular groups include those for singles, empty-nesters, and young families.
Our Friday night Kabbalat Shabbat or Saturday morning Shabbat services are great opportunities to meet and interact with some of our members.
