The Religious Practices Committee works with Rabbi Borordin to make decisions on aspects of prayer and policy. For example at Congregation Beth Shalom all persons coming up to the Torah for an aliyah regrardless of gender is to wear a tallit and headcovering. They also review language and additions to any service, such as the use of the imahot in the Amidah or the minhag of saying el rachamim for non-Shabbat yarhzeiten.
The committee is chaired by Michael Medwed and meets monthly. Any questions or concerns about service protocol or order would be discussed by this committee.
