Senior Members Survey

We have been in the process of rethinking our strategies for reaching specific ages and stages of life, and we were realizing that the name "Empty Nesters" wasn't accurately reflecting the group of those members of our community who are in their 60s, 70s or older.
We’d love to re-gather our former “Empty Nesters” and come up with activities that we'd all enjoy and even figure out a new name to describe our group.

If you have friends or family who you believe would love or benefit from this programming, we encourage you to invite them to any of our events.

This form is designed to find volunteer leadership, as well as assess community interests and preferences. We desperately need your input to make this program a success!

Our inaugural gathering under this new framework is going to be a luncheon on Tuesday, June 13th, following the Endless Opportunities meeting, in the Social Hall. We will be catering this lunch for a cost of $10/person (sponsorships are available - please reach out to Carol confidentially) and would love to know any food preferences or dietary restrictions below.

If you don't know about Endless Opportunities, it is a joint program co-sponsored by Beth Shalom, and organized by Rabbi Kate Speizer at Temple DeHirsch Sinai. Endless Opportunities is a community-wide program offering educational and social events designed for adults aged 60+. Research shows that people who are socially engaged live longer. They are a warm and welcoming place to engage in learning, socializing, laughter, and fun!

An added bonus? Congregation Beth Shalom's own Margot Kravette is going to be sharing more about her photography: Inspired Journeys. With limited travel due to Covid and no in-person celebrations, Margot Kravette turned her passion for photography into a local project. She committed to capturing the beauty and uniqueness of 70 locations in Western Washington, and created a website to share the photos and stories about places that have inspired her. Join us to hear about her project while enjoying her photographs. Join us in person at Congregation Beth Shalom in North Seattle OR online via Zoom.

Our luncheon will begin around 12:30 and will include some lighter fare. We need an RSVP so that we can cater appropriately, so please make sure to check the RSVP box if you would like to join us!

This will help us arrange "tables" during the event.
We recognize that many in our community have ("spectacular") dietary requirements in order to feel good (instead of unwell) after eating. We love feasting together and want to ensure that no one feels excluded or "othered" because of their dietary needs. Please feel free to add any comments or additional needs in the memo box below if these boxes don't address your specific dietary needs. We have access to numerous recipes and can accommodate almost any sensitivities, intolerances, or allergies.
Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions ("spectacular" diets) so that we can do our best to ensure there is something delightful for you to eat & drink!
Many of our onsite events have costs behind-the-scenes. And for some of the elders of our community, finances are a challenge. We welcome donations to cover our sponsorships and financial aid for these kinds of programs. If you would like to contribute extra to support these efforts, feel free to do so.
Thank you!
