Volunteer With Us

Interested in helping out our shul by volunteering your time? It's a great way to support our community and also develop relationships. We have volunteer opportunities that range from one-time activities to ongoing committee work. Below you can view our current volunteer needs.

Short-term volunteer opportunities

Deliver celebrate-at-home kits: Do you enjoy driving? On Thursday 1/27 and Friday 1/28, we will have celebrate-at-home kits to deliver to Beth Shalom households for our annual fundraiser on Saturday 1/29. Contact staff member Melani.

Greeter for BloodWorks Donation Pop-Up: Beth Shalom will be hosting BloodWorks Northwest as a pop-up donation site on March 2, 3, 9 & 10. We could use volunteer greeters to let people in the door, welcome them, and check that they have a mask, a photo ID, and an appointment. Contact staff member Melani for more details.

Be a Shabbas Chef: We need Shabbas Chefs to prepare Kiddush lunch! It’s fun, it’s easy, and there’s lot of support! Sign up for a week of your choice, and we'll help you to plan a menu, get the kitchen helpers you need, and order your ingredients. Contact Beth Shalom member Wendy

Long-term volunteer opportunities

Development Committee: Do you enjoy working on a team and creating opportunities for our members to support the synagogue financially? This team is in need of your help and works with the Executive Director in planning and implementing all fundraising and revenue-generating programs of the synagogue. Contact Executive Director Colin

Prepare meals for people who are visiting Seattle for cancer treatment:  Currently, we are supporting a family from Bellingham whose 1-year-old daughter has leukemia and is a patient at Children’s Hospital. Information, the schedule, and sign up can be found here.  If you have additional questions or would like more information, please contact Margot Kravette.
