Building & Grounds: "What have you done for your Synagogue lately?" There is a great answer. There are 15 exterior wooden doors that get climate abuse especially doors facing south or southeast. Some have reached the point of needing major attention right now. Steve Katz has stepped forward to work on a few doors and has already started. If we do not carry out required maintenance there can be resultant damage to cause need for replacement. Consider $1500 per door plus $1000 installation. Steve has already finished one door. Start with rubbing the wood with a small mesh special material and taping hardware and glass with 2" blue tape. Finally a coat of Cetol is applied. Work with Steve to help him but especially learn the process so you can do one or more doors yourself. Have a congregant join you to work as a team. So when the question comes "What have you done....." you have great answer. "I am part of the CBS community and answered a need." Contact Beth Shalom member Dominique.
Be a Shabbas Chef: We need Shabbas Chefs to prepare Kiddush lunch! It’s fun, it’s easy, and there’s lot of support! Sign up for a week of your choice, and we'll help you to plan a menu, get the kitchen helpers you need, and order your ingredients. Contact Beth Shalom member Wendy.
Prepare a meal for families visiting Seattle for medical care. Occasionally people come here for cancer or other treatments. We can help them get through these challenging times by preparing a meal or helping with other needs. For questions or additional information about how you can help every once in a while, please contact Margot Kravette.
