Family & Children's Tefillah (Prayer)

Young Family Tefillah

Join Rabbi Rose as we celebrate Shabbat together with singing, a story, marching with stuffed Torahs, and other Shabbat-friendly activities.  This is geared for kids under 5 and their grownups, but big siblings are welcome, too.  We invite you to stick around for kiddush lunch with both indoor and outdoor eating options. Services are free and open to the community. We meet at 11:30 am  on the following dates in 2022: 1/29, 2/19, 4/9, 5/21, 6/4, and 8/6.

Kid’s Kehillah

Kids Kehilla is a fun, interactive prayer service for children ages 6 – 11. We'll meet on Shabbat morning (dates: 2/19, 4/9, 5/21 and 6/4 (6/4 gathering will be in the evening as part of Shavuot observance) from 10:45 until 12:00 (or until the main service upstairs is complete). During Kids Kehilla, children sing prayers, play games, have their own Torah service and more. We also have special services throughout the year (including Lego Kids Kehilla, Star Wars Kids Kehilla and Backwards Kids Kehilla!). Please join us for a fun-filled Shabbat morning!

Shabbat Babysitting

Want a safe, nurturing place to leave your children while you daven on Shabbat mornings? Great babysitters provide a safe, fun play time for young children (ages 1-3) during Shabbat morning services.  This program meets from 9:30am to 12:15pm every Shabbat morning.

Youth Minyan

At Congregation Beth Shalom’s Youth Minyan, post B’nai Mitzvah teens participate in this no adults allowed service that is led by teens. Youth Minyan gives them the opportunity to practice their synagogue skills, pray with their peers, and socialize over a delicious meal. Youth Minyan will meet 6-8 times in the 2021-2022 school year. Mark your calendars for our 2021-2022 dates: 10/2, 11/20,1/8, 2/5, 3/12, 5/7.  We meet from 10:30-12:30 in the Beit Midrash.

Everyone is welcome! The Shabbat programs above are offered free of charge but do require online registration. Have a question? Please contact our Director of Education.
