Family & Children's Tefillah (Prayer)

Young Family Tefillah

Join Rabbi Rose as we celebrate Shabbat together with singing, a story, marching with stuffed Torahs, and other Shabbat-friendly activities.  This is geared for kids under 5 and their grownups, but big siblings are welcome, too.  We invite you to stick around for kiddush lunch with both indoor and outdoor eating options. Services are free and open to the community. We meet at 11:30 am  on the following dates Spring 2023: 1/7, 2/4, 3/4, 4/1, 5/6, and 6/3.

Kid’s Kehilla

Kids Kehilla with Rabbi Lauren Kurland is a fun, interactive prayer service for children ages 6 - 11. We'll meet on Shabbat morning (Spring 2023 Dates: 1/7, 2/4, 3/4, 4/1, and 5/6) from 11:15 until 12:15 (or until the main service upstairs is complete). During Kids Kehilla, children sing prayers, play games, have their own Torah service and more. Parents are welcome! We will end with a sweet treat and coming up to the sanctuary to join the Adon Olam Choir. Please join us for a fun-filled Shabbat morning!

Shabbat Babysitting

Want a safe, nurturing place to leave your children while you daven on Shabbat mornings? Great babysitters provide a safe, fun playtime for children 5th grade and younger during Shabbat morning services. Note that babysitters do not handle diaper changes for younger children. This program meets from 9:45am to 12:15pm every Shabbat morning during the academic year.

Youth Minyan

At Congregation Beth Shalom’s Youth Minyan, post B’nai Mitzvah teens participate in this no adults allowed service that is led by teens. Youth Minyan gives them the opportunity to practice their synagogue skills, pray with their peers, and socialize over a delicious meal. Youth Minyan will meet 6-8 times in the 2022-2023 school year. Mark your calendars for our 2022-2023 dates: 10/29, 11/19,12/10, 1/21, 3/25, 4/29, and 5/20.  We meet from 10:30-12:30 in the Beit Midrash.

Everyone is welcome! The Shabbat programs above are offered free of charge. Have a question? Please contact our Director of Education.
