Fall Judaics: Deep Dive into Jewish Prayer Fall 2025

This course is part of the Adult B'nai Mitzvah program, but it's also being offered to other interested CBS members. 

Join us for a rich exploration of Jewish prayer, its structure, theology, and the meaning behind individual prayers. Topics will include: Why pray, keva and kavannah (form and intention), the structure of services, birchot hashachar (morning blessings), the Shema and its blessings, the weekday and Shabbat/festival Amidah, Torah service, concluding prayers, and afternoon/evening services including Kabbalat Shabbat. Students will receive a siddur for this class.

(Adult B'nai Mitzvah participants: if you've registered for the program, you are already signed up for this class! No need to sign up a second time, otherwise you will be charged tuition a second time.)

Time: Wednesdays, 8:05–9:15 pm
Dates: Oct 22, 2025–Jan 28, 2026 (no class Nov 26, Dec 24, Dec 31)

Beth Shalom will refund tuition in the event a course is canceled.  Students who withdraw from a course and request a refund within two weeks of the course’s start date are eligible for a pro-rated refund.  Tuition will not be refunded for course withdrawal after two weeks from a course’s start date.
