Shmita Shabbat

Saturday, July 2, 2022 3 Tammuz 5782

9:30 AM - 12:30 PM

Experience a special Shabbat to celebrate the Shmita year we are in. After services, enjoy a lunch made with seasonal ingredients. Participate in our Shmita basket ritual, developed by Brianna Sayres, to enjoy fresh fruits and veggies of the season and share them with North Helpline Food Bank. Contribute to the Shmita basket ritual by bringing fresh seasonal produce to Beth Shalom during office hours the week of June 27-July 1. What is in season? Find out here, shop at a farmer’s market, visit a grocery store that advertises where they source produce, or harvest from your garden. After lunch, we’ll engage in discussion together about how we are engaging, and hope to engage, with the Shmita year.

As of April 9th, 2022, registration is no longer required for Shabbat services.
If you're new to CBS and would like to learn more about our shul, you can use the optional form below to let us know that you're joining us for services!

Do you come to services regularly?  Are you interested in helping to prep, serve and clean up from lunch on Shabbat morning?  Contact Wendy Friedman, wendynbeck@comcast.net, to be added to the volunteer list.
