Shehecheyanu!
Saturday, January 28, 2023 • 6 Shevat 5783
7:00 PM - 9:00 PMSocial HallOur Annual Fundraiser helps us contrast the consumerism of the winter season with our values of tzedakah (charity/justice) and chesed (lovingkindness). At Congregation Beth Shalom, we deeply appreciate your gifts of presence, volunteering and financial support! And we want to gather to celebrate all of the many ways in which we give of ourselves throughout the year and inspire others to join our movement at our Annual Fundraiser, happening on Saturday, January 28th, at 7 pm!
We are hopeful to see as many of your faces in person, and while we know that Covid (and the flu, and RSV) are a concern, we want to assure you that we will have both inside and outside schmoozing, with plenty of air flow and respect for masking and social distancing. If you have special concerns, let us know in the message box on the form and we'll do what we can to ensure that you feel included and welcome and safe. We also are *renting heaters* for our outdoor spaces to increase the cozy factor, and will have hand warmers available. Don't let the winter weather keep you home!
We will have some snacks, signature warming winter beverages, and delicious dessert to tantalize your taste buds, accommodating most dietary needs - just let us know in the comments section what your specific needs are!
For those who do not feel comfortable attending in person, we invite you to register, and let us know in the message box. We will be preparing a special message and little celebration package so that you can feel both included and a part of this gathering. Your presence is precious to us - both in person and virtually!
One of our activities will be a time to answer pre-selected questions about ourselves - around the table, and in the "official" schmooze time. To facilitate this, and make it easier for our more introverted or internally processing friends, we've put the "official" schmooze questions below so that you can choose one that you can get excited about talking about. We'll print this question on your nametag to make the process even easier!
An evening with havdalah, music, learning, schmoozing, and gathering for the first in person fundraiser since the beginning of Covid. We have been in interesting and unusual times, so we invite you to join us in gathering and saying as a welcoming, inclusive community:
Shehecheyanu! What a blessing to reach this moment together!
