Yom HaZikaron/Yom HaAtzmaut (in person)
Wednesday, May 4, 2022 • 3 Iyyar 5782
7:15 PM - 8:30 PMJoin the Beth Shalom community in marking two important days in Israel: Yom HaZikaron, Israeli Memorial Day, and Yom HaAtzmaut, Israeli Independence Day. How do we hold these two ideas and move between them? In Israel, they use a Tekes Ma'avar, a ceremony to transition from the sadness of memorial day to the celebration of independence day. Our Shinshinit Mor will share about her father’s experience in the Israeli Defense Forces, followed by our own Tekes Ma'avar with poetry and song. After the program, we’ll celebrate together with Israeli music and snacks, including making Israeli chocolate balls with Mor.
The program and ceremony will start at 7:15pm, followed by the celebration at 8:00pm. Feel free to join us for one or both portions of the evening, and please register so we can provide enough snacks.
Sorry, Registration has ended.
