The Galilee Dreamers program, based at Oranim College of Education in Israel. Its mission—to address the deep disconnect between Arab and Jewish citizens of Northern Israel brings together Israeli teens of all backgrounds living in the Galilee, including Jew, Druze, Muslims and Christian. Galilee dreamers work to foster mutual respect, empathy and collaboration against a backdrop of systemic separations: Jewish and Arab teenagers grow up in separate neighborhoods and towns, attend schools where different languages are spoken, and rarely—if ever—encounter one another in meaningful ways that could challenge stereotypes and foster understanding. The Galilee Dreamers participants are part of a three year program of ongoing dialogue and meeting in Israel and leading workshops and will be visiting Beth Shalom and leading a workshop for the whole community on April 26 and with our youth on April 27 and 29th in our schools.
